The Global Law Firm Experience
PILPG’s externship program provides an opportunity for current law school students to spend one or two semesters gaining experience in the field of public international law. Externs support PILPG’s legal staff in providing pro bono legal service to PILPG’s clients throughout the world. Over the course of the semester, interns are responsible for conducting research for senior attorneys; drafting work products for PILPG's clients on international law issues; editing legal documents; and participating in client and strategic partner meetings.
Featured Extern: Anna Brennan
Anna Brennan was a PILPG extern on the Sudan negotiations team during her studies at Georgetown Law. With PILPG, she researched and drafted policy documents, White Papers, and memoranda for clients on areas of international law, transitional justice, and conflict resolution. Following her PILPG externship, she applied her substantive expertise as a research assistant for numerous professors. More recently, she is a trainee solicitor at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in London, United Kingdom.
